HR Manager – Logistics
WR logistics are currently recruiting for a HR Manager – Logistics in Portsmouth
HR Manager – Logistics – Portsmouth – Up to £45,000
Office hours: Monday – Friday 09:hrs – 17:30hrs
Salary : Depending on experience – £35,000 – £45,000
The Role – HR Manager – Logistics
Maintain an overview of current legislation in all Human Resources matters
Responsible for overseeing all things HR within the operation
Lead the recruitment and hiring process (preparing and evaluating job descriptions and managing the hiring process)
Assist the management through recruitment process, including providing guidance on best practice
Create and implement effective on-boarding and induction plans which improve the employee experience
Create staff training and development plans
Assist building, implementing, and maintaining a Performance Appraisal program that allows Senior Management to coherently evaluate performances across the Company
Assist for assessing, building and maintaining a succession planning program in accordance with the Senior Management and to the needs of the Company
Ensure all starter and leavers checklists are correctly completed
Ensure (and where necessary complete) all offer letters to new starters and prepare contracts of employment for new employees. Ensure all references for new employees are requested / received
Ensure the requesting and maintaining all new IT accounts for new employees and ensuring old accounts are closed
Apply for and analyse criminal records checks (DBS) for new employee screening
Produce management reports from Select HR system ready for Management meetings
Assist with special projects in HR
Provide holiday and sickness cover HR functions
Assist managing Disciplinary and Grievance Management (claims, conflict resolution, both from a social and legal perspective)
Skills and Qualifications
Experience as a HR Manager (+4 years)
CIPD Qualified – Level 5 and above
Demonstrate understanding of HR processes
Conversant in IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Great interpersonal and communication skills
Personal resilience and the capacity to work effectively and stay calm under pressure
Demonstrate customer care skills
Ability to deal with confidential information and maintain confidentiality is essential
Good team working skills
Confidentiality & discretion
Understanding of various HR software systems, like Select HR or any other platforms
Good understanding of employment law
Must be able to prioritise and organise own workload with attention to detail
