HVAC Service Manager

I’m working with a prestigious mechanical and electrical contractor. They have been steadily growing, advancing in to electrical and renewable energy markets in the past 12 months. They are now looking for a Contract Manager or Service Manager to manage air conditioning, ventilation, chillers, AHU’s LTHW, CHW, gas boilers and heating maintenance contracts. You can be based commutable to either London or Birmingham for this position

This is suitable for a Project Manager, Contract Manager, Service Manager, Operations Manager, Office Manager, Project Engineer or Contract Engineer with experience in a client facing HVAC management role

Requirements:

  • Mechanical or Air Conditioning background
  • Experience of managing air conditioning contracts
  • Experience of coordinating air conditioning, ventilation and mechanical services including service, maintenance and installations on AC Splits, VRVs, chillers, AHU’s LTHW and CHW. Gas boilers and heating

  • Service Department Management: Oversee the daily operations of the HVAC service department, including scheduling, dispatching, and coordination of service technicians. Ensure efficient utilization of resources and timely completion of service requests.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of service technicians, promoting a positive work environment that fosters teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth. Provide guidance, training, and support to enhance their technical skills and customer service abilities.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively, maintaining a high level of professionalism and representing the company’s values.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality standards, best practices, and safety protocols for all HVAC service operations. Conduct regular inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Resource Management: Manage inventory, equipment, and supplies required for service operations. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, order replenishments as needed, and oversee vendor relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and advancements in HVAC systems. Provide technical guidance and support to service technicians when troubleshooting complex issues or conducting system diagnostics.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and implement performance metrics to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the service department. Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators, such as service response time, customer satisfaction, and technician productivity.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • HVAC related engineering qualifications such as a completed apprenticeship, diploma, degree or equivalent
  • Proven experience in HVAC service management, with a strong understanding of HVAC systems and components.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of service technicians.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Solid organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using HVAC service software and tools for scheduling, dispatching, and inventory management.
