Business Development Manager - Freight Forwarding - Air & Ocean Freight Sales

Employing over 200 experts across 22 branches, my client offer a wide range of integrated shipping and logistics services via Air, Ocean & Road, to its customers and clients around the world.

My client are now seeking a Business Development Manager with a strong background in international freight sales, specialising in Air and Ocean freight.

This in an excellent and exciting opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career with freight forwarding and logistics industry.

Business Development Manager Role:

To develop business, with both existing and “new” customers, in line with the agreed business strategy and Key Account Plan. To promote the company image and support the key account management team in winning and maintaining an existing portfolio of profitable business.
To identify and qualify new potential business opportunities in air and ocean freight services
Arrange and attend meetings with new potential and existing customers
Business solution design & full proposals including quotations
Negotiation & business closure
New business implementation

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

Development of new and existing business
Development and maintenance of Key Account Plans for specific target customers, as directed by the Commercial Director
Retention of existing business by demonstrating the width and breadth to existing customers
Customer negotiations to achieve competitive cost structures
Handling quotation requests
Preparation of RFQ/ RFI/ Tenders & Proposals
Preparation of presentations to support an RFQ/RFI/ Tender response
Preparation of presentations to support, and guide, customer meetings
Maintenance of Global CRM database
Participation in structured telephone and mail marketing campaigns
Customer systems access training
Maintain and develop customer relationships
Maintain & increase volumes and revenues
