International Freight Forwarding - Business Development Manager - Air & Ocean Freight
Main Purpose of Role
Develop and deliver a commercial strategy that exceeds sales and profitability targets whilst delivering the company goals, building the Company Brand and delivering year on year growth within the Air/ Sea freight Sectors.
Working within the Commercial Team to assist in the management and coordination of proposal, presentation and tender activity. Producing high quality, written proposals that clearly articulate the organisation value proposition
Key Tasks & Accountabilities:
Support the tender/ proposal process by producing high quality, written material that clearly articulate the organisations value proposition
Co-ordinate completion of the tender submission ensuring submission dates are met
Analysing opportunities and agreeing methods of increasing Advanced potential success pre-bid
Developing and maintaining library of documentation relevant to bids through liaison with the Freight Forwarding Dept
Supporting and logging of all tender's issues that may arise in the CRM
Together with Commercial finance, projects and operations teams complete solutions design proposals
Conduct Market research and gain market intelligence sufficient to support the development of new business opportunities.
Represent the Company, presenting proposals and where appropriate, progressing leads through to new business generation
Develop and implement leading, consistent prospecting disciplines and activities to ensure that the business has an on-going healthy prospect pipeline
Develop and implement sales support approaches that will enhance opportunities to win deals
Contribute to the development of new and enhanced customer propositions (together with short term incentives) to enhance sales and profitability
Have a good understanding of the Import and Export Sea and Air market
Identify relevant opportunities within the Air/ Sea freight market sectors
Communicate with Shipping Lines/ Airlines to negotiate competitive rates on all trade lanes
Salary £50,000 Basic
