Here are some top tips to improve your CV, to help you get that dream job!

A personal profile:-
This is your first statement and your chance to stand out from all your competitors. In your personal profile, you should briefly explain who you are (in terms of your experience and skill set), what role you are looking for and what you have to offer.
Remember to include your previous company names, job title and the dates you worked – from the month and year you started and finished each role.
By having a chronological or combined CV, it requires you to outline all your experiences throughout your career. It is here you show your skills, experience and career achievements.
The details you should list depends entirely on where you are in your professional career:
Recent school leaver: State the highest level of certificate that you obtained at school, with grades for each subject – list specialists subjects that are relevant to the position you are applying for.
University graduate: Include your degree or diploma, the university name and the grades you received. If relevant, you can include details of any relevant modules, courses and extra-curricular activities.
Mid-late career: Include your degrees plus any other courses which are applicable to the job you are applying for. Mention any other relevant short courses or career relevant qualifications you may have obtained in your years in industry.
Relevant information & hobbies/interests:-
Don’t be afraid to highlight any relevant and major achievements. Don’t sell yourself short! You have more skills than you realise.
Skill examples can include:
- Computer and software - (knowledge on specific and technical programs),
- Project management,
- Foreign languages,
- Budget knowledge,
Achievement examples include:
- Bringing in new initiatives,
- Increasing company revenue by X
- Decreasing company deficit by X
- Organised office events
Mention relevant hobbies and interest that can enhance your career and will fit in with the company culture. Be sensible with what you reveal, make sure it is appropriate and applicable.
