Position: Freight Forwarder

Location: Fareham, PO15

Salary: up to £35,000pa

Hours: Full time – Mon – Fri 8:30AM – 17:00PM

Our client a growing independently owned freight forwarder based in Fareham.

Due to expansion plans and the acquisition of new business, they are now hiring for an experienced freight forwarder/operator to join their dynamic team of freight professionals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the process of arranging shipments from the initial stage of quotation, arranging all import/export documentation and invoicing on delivery. This role will also include completing customs declarations for imports/exports.

This is a multi-modal position that will encompass air, ocean and road freight movements. However the main area of business is dealing with European Road freight movements for import and export. We are looking to speak to individuals who have managed Full loads as well as Groupage services for mainland Europe.

This is a role that offers the right individual the opportunity to grow with the company and progress into a more senior position as the role evolves.

Are you the right person for us?

• Relevant Working Experience in the freight forwarding industry.
• Strong administrative and organisation skills
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent computer skills
• Outgoing, friendly, and commercially aware

What will your role as an Import / Export Coordinator look like?

• Moving Groupage & Full Loads throughout Europe
• UK Distribution
• Obtaining Sub-Contractor pricing
• Customs Clearance
• Utilising Sprinter Freight Software
• Controlling both import and export shipments by air, sea and road
• Liaising regularly with overseas offices, suppliers and agents
