freight forwarder – Multi Modal

Our client is a leading provider of global logistics and freight forwarding services with its own offices in the UAE, India, Turkey, China, Saudi Arabia & an active members of WCA, PPL, JCTrans, is now expanding its operations to the United Kingdom with the opening of its new office based at Manchester Airport.

Role Overview:

As a Multimodal Freight Operator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the sales team, ensuring a best-in-class service is offered to all new and existing customers. This role requires similar experience of working within a busy Freight Forwarding environment and a good understanding of the necessary processes and documentation. You will be a confident communicator liaising with relevant partners, carriers and clients.

Responsibilities:

• Managing Air/Ocean Imports/Exports from inception to delivery. (Knowledge of all modes will be a supreme advantage but will be open to candidates with part knowledge).
• Dealing with customers, suppliers, partners and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and fast delivery of service.
• Communicate with all stakeholders to always maintain top of the range customer service.
• Utilize existing freight/IT systems to keep accurate records and data pertinent to the shipments being provided.
• Providing and ensuring all customs data and documents are provided to 3rd parties/HMRC as and when required.
• Making sure that customers are served in line with SOP’s and their individual requirements.
• Ability to invoice on time and accurately.
• Maintain and develop relationships with customers to up-sell and cross-sell across all modes and methods.

Qualifications:

• 2 years+ prior experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of logistics and supply chain solutions, preferably Multimodal with both Imports and Exports.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to deal with all stakeholders on all levels.
• Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using CRM software (knowledge of Boxtop would be a positive) and Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
