Senior Technical Support Engineer – Mechanical bias

My client is a Global Manufacturer of engineering technology for automation applications, they have a large U.K presence and respected brand.

They are seeking an engineer with a background in supporting customers, so likely to have held positions including; Technical Support Engineer, Sales Engineer, Sales Support Engineer, Customer Support Engineer or similar. You’ll need a strong mechanical bias qualified to at least HNC if not a degree.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working from UK support HQ in Milton Keynes, you will provide support to customers, distributors and the large field sales team
• Attend on-going and detailed product training
• Answering basic and highly technical questions via phone and e-mail
• Analyse, check and report writing on customer product returns
• Market and competitor product analysis & understanding
• Occasional customer visits and application development
• Product management including training, new product introduction

You:

• Several years customer support experience in an engineering setting
• Likely to have been a Technical Support Engineer or Field / Internal Sales Engineer or Field Service Engineer and enjoys dealing directly with customers
• Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Previous hands-on, testing and diagnostic engineering experience is beneficial as is knowledge of pneumatics, actuators, valves, linear motion products.
