Customs and Freight Operations Manager

Location: Feltham, London

Salary: £40,000 to £55,000 (DOE)

My client is looking for an experienced Customs and Freight Operations Manager based in West London. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in Air, Road, Sea and/or Rail Freight Forwarding for both Import and Export Operations. The right candidate will also have a good understanding of Customs Clearances and Compliance with HMRC regulation and have previous leadership experience.

Working Hours: Monday – Friday (9am – 6pm) – Flexible working required

Key Responsibilities:

• Have full understanding of the procedures of handling Air, Sea, Road and Rail shipments under HMRC and UKBF Customs procedures.
• Dealing with customers, suppliers, partners and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and fast delivery of service.
• Fully manage a team of 8 operations staff.
• Use in-house system to schedule to manage Import and Export new jobs and shipments in conjunction with ASM/CNS/CDS/Destin8.
• Prepare and dispatch all relevant paperwork including CMR’s, customs declarations, airline shed release notes, handover notes, collection notes, PMC ULD notes and transit documents.
• Invoice on time and accurately.
• Maintain and develop relationships with customers to up-sell and cross-sell across all modes and methods.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience with Air, Road, Sea and/or Rail Freight Forwarding.
• Import and/or export operations and customs experience.
• Leadership experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry.
• Experience with UK customs compliance with HMRC Regulation.
• Proficiency using ASM/CNS/CDS/Destin8 logistics software desirable.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
