Assistant Irrigation Manager – Fresh Produce
This is a unique opportunity to join a prestigious grower of fresh produce on the south coast. Managing the upkeep of irrigation systems & ensuring optimum growing conditions at all times, you will play a key role in the success of the crops. Main Duties:
- Oversee a small Irrigation team on a daily basis
- Design & implement a robust maintenance programme & ensure immediate maintenance actions are taken
- Watering & feeding of the crops via the automated growing systems (Priva, Netafim)
- Daily monitoring, sampling and record keeping
- Maintaining adequate drainage within the fields & surrounding areas
- Ensuring adequate frost protection measures are delivered when required
- Maintain Irrigation storage areas, containers & feed stations
- Calibrate dosing equipment
You:
- Field Irrigation experience with same/similar crop systems
- Experience with Priva or similar systems
- Clean UK/EU Driving Licence
- Excellent communication skills and self motivation
- Flexibility on working hours, including weekends, bank holidays and cover as required
