Project Quantity Surveyor – M&E
My client is a leading mechanical and electrical (M&E) contracting business renowned for delivering high-quality and innovative engineering solutions across commercial, and residential projects. With a commitment to excellence, sustainability, and client satisfaction, they are expanding their team to support their growing portfolio of projects.
This is suitable for a Project Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor or Lead Quantity Surveyor with experience of managing M&E projects over 10 million in value
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans. Monitor project costs and ensure they remain within budget
- Tendering and Procurement: Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation. Evaluate and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
- Valuation and Variations: Conduct valuations and manage variations and change orders. Ensure accurate and timely payment applications and final accounts
- Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and develop responses to project risks. Advise on potential risks and mitigation strategies
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on project progress, cost control, and financial performance. Present findings to project stakeholders
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, building regulations, and health and safety standards
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are achieved
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the M&E sector
- Minimum M&E project value experience of 10 million
- Strong understanding of M&E systems and construction processes
- Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Package:
- Salary £80,000 – £90,000 depending on experience
- Hybrid working
- 33 days holiday
