Position: Transport Manager
Location: Hythe – Kent
Hours: 5 out of 7 any rolling week – to be planned
Salary: Up to £45,000

Are you an experienced Transport Manager with a passion for logistics and a proven track record in managing compliant, efficient fleet operations across the UK and Europe? We’re looking for someone who has an International CPC and a current HGV 1 licence to join our client’s team in Hythe.

The Role:
As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of their fleet, ensuring full compliance with UK and EU transport legislation. This is a critical leadership role where you will play a key part in the safe, efficient, and lawful operation of our transport activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hold overall responsibility for Operator Licence (O-Licence) compliance.

• Ensure fleet and driver compliance with all relevant UK and EU legislation.

• Manage driver performance, including tachograph analysis and working time directive compliance.

• Oversee scheduling, route planning, and load optimisation for UK and European deliveries.

• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure high service levels.

• Maintain accurate transport records and reports.

• Lead, support, and develop the transport team.

Requirements:

• International CPC – Essential

• Category CE (Class 1) licence – Essential

• Demonstrable experience in a similar Transport Manager role.

• Thorough understanding of UK and European transport legislation.

• Strong leadership and organisational skills.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

• IT proficiency with transport management systems and Microsoft Office.
