A global freight forwarding organisation is seeking an experienced Air Freight Business Development Manager to develop and grow its China trade lanes. This is a senior commercial role focused on driving new business, strengthening carrier relationships, and expanding air freight volumes between China and the UK/Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow air freight business focused on China import and export trade lanes
- Identify, target, and secure new customers across key verticals
- Manage and grow existing strategic accounts
- Build strong relationships with airlines, overseas partners, and agents in China
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure service excellence
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service agreements
- Represent the business at industry events and client meetings
Requirements
- Proven experience in air freight business development / sales within freight forwarding
- Strong knowledge of China trade lanes (import & export)
- Existing customer portfolio highly desirable
- Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) – essential
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated, target-driven and relationship-focused
