Air Freight Import Coordinator

Position: Air Freight Import Coordinator
Location: Egham
Job Type: Permanent, Monday – Friday
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 (DEO)

My client is looking to appoint an experienced freight forwarding professional with experience dealing with end-to-end air export operations to add to their team based in their Egham office. Our client, an international freight forwarder, who provides ocean and air freight forwarding, project logistics, warehousing, customs clearance services and aircraft and ship charters.

The primary function is to arrange air import movements from start to finish including customs procedures. Responsible for raising HAWBS & MAWBS, quoting jobs and offering pricing solutions, raising alerts, and liaising with customers, overseas agents, and airlines. Building strong relationships with clients to encourage new and repeat business opportunities.

Your key responsibilities as an Air Freight Import Coordinator:

• Arrange air imports for key accounts and ad-hoc customers
• Raise HAWBS & MAWBS
• Liaise with airlines and overseas agents
• Communicates all aspects of capabilities and service offerings available to the client
• Negotiate directly with air freight carriers to achieve best pricing
• Complete Customs entries
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with key clients, including negotiating and pricing
• Maintain existing client base and simultaneously prospect for new clients and opportunities when possible

Requirements:

• End to end Air Freight Operations knowledge
• Strong understating of customs procedures
• Working knowledge of the International freight forwarding industry
• Be able to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers and your wider team
• Have a keen attention to detail
• Develop trust and respect from colleagues & clients
• Identify problems early & respond in a timely fashion
• A proactive and professional persona
