Position: Air Freight Import Operator
Location: Farnborough
Job Type: Permanent, Monday – Friday 09:00am – 17:30pm (Approx)
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 (DEO)
Our client, a Global Freight Forwarder, is looking to appoint an Air Freight Import Operator with experience dealing with end-to-end air import operations to join their team.
Your key responsibilities as an Air Freight Operator:
- Managing shipments on an end-to-end’ operational basis from quotation, execution and client invoicing.
- Responding to quote requests in a timely efficient manner for external and internal clients.
- Booking of shipments with carriers
- Ensure data is accurately entered into all systems following company best practice
- Resolving day-to-day issues with Clients and Vendors.
- Proactive communication to both internal and external clients with any identified actual or potential service issue.
- Responding to service updates and status updates as required by internal and external clients.
- Liaise with airlines and overseas agents
- Negotiate directly with air freight carriers to achieve best pricing
Requirements:
- Experienced in start-to-finish operations from rate negotiation to invoicing
- Must have prior experience working across Air Freight operations – Road & Sea freight experience desirable
- Confident in managing own accounts and liaising with overseas agents and carriers
- Comprehensive understanding of import regimes and understanding of Customs procedures
- Comprehensive understanding of CDS/CHIEF
