Due to rapid growth, and the roll out of a new freight forwarding division, we are now hiring an Air Freight specialist to manage and oversee a new branch operation in London Heathrow.

We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic leader to oversee our airfreight operation, ensuring efficiency, timeliness and cost-effectiveness. As well as the day-to-day airfreight operations, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a team, collaborating with cross-functional departments, negotiating rates and contracts with new and existing customers, and optimise processes to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Day to day branch management, overseeing air freight operational activity for both import and export consignments.
• To be compliant with all customs process/ declarations for import and export
• Train, support and develop operations team members.
• Work in collaboration with commercial departments.
• Maintain strong relationships with key accounts to ensure business retention
• Drive business growth through effective account management and customer satisfaction and new business acquisition.

• Ensure proper interface between sales and operations.
• Responsible for the business plan and budget elaboration (profit & loss responsibility on Branch level).

Essential experience:

• A minimum of 7 years experience working within the Freight Forwarding Industry with a strong focus on Operational Management and Service Excellence for airfreight shipments.
• Experience in management with P&L responsibility/forecasting.
• Successful management of all key stakeholder relationships including shareholders and external government agencies.
• Advanced knowledge of airfreight process and security procedures and protocols.
• Strong negotiator and a self-starter with the ability to adapt to stressful environments by using a sociable but firm approach, as well as engendering trust and integrity.
