Air Import Coordinator Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of one of the few UK Freight forwarders specialising in true customer service for it’s clients. The company is based in Altrincham working worldwide and can offer a full range of services. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge in air freight and import operations.
Purpose of the role
This role is to add to our busy airfreight team in Manchester. Handling shipments from start to finish. The main focus would be on Air Imports whilst assisting at busy periods on air Exports to ensure our customers and overseas partners receive a seamless airfreight experience.

Air Import Coordinator responsibilities
- Handle shipments from door to door.
- Prepare and submit customs entries.
- Respond to clients in a timely manner.
- Invoice jobs in a timely manner.
- Loading of information into CW1.
- Close liaison with customs compliance manager.
- To handle daily import operations for Manchester client base.
- To work closely with the air export department to help cover as a full airfreight department.
- To liaise with clients in relation to documentation, delivery and charges, if required.
- Quotations for clients and overseas agents
- Monitor ETA and advise of any changes.
- Ensure customer has all required docs, I.E. PODs, copy C88 etc.
Experience to require
- Good communication skills
- Good organization skills and effective time management & working practices
- Manage time effectively
- Commercial awareness
- Attention to detail
- IT Literate in Microsoft Office
- Problem solving
- Applicant would ideally have 2-3 years recent relevant industry experience with previous involvement in Air Imports from quote to delivered.
- CW1 experience an advantage but not essential as full training and support will be provided.
