Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 DOE

Air Import operator Overview

Our client is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Air Import Operator to join their busy Air Freight Operations team based near Heathrow Airport. Working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, you will be responsible for managing air import shipments from arrival through to final delivery, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Air Import Operator Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end air import shipments, from pre-alert through to final delivery.
• Monitor incoming freight and coordinate cargo collection from airlines/handling agents.
• Complete and process customs entries in accordance with UK customs regulations.
• Liaise with airlines, handling agents, transport providers, and overseas offices.
• Arrange final mile deliveries and coordinate with UK transport teams.
• Ensure accurate documentation including AWB, manifests, and customs paperwork.
• Track and update shipments in the freight management system.
• Communicate shipment status updates with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Resolve operational issues, delays, or discrepancies promptly.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, aviation security, and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate operational and billing records.

Air Import Operator Requirements

• Previous experience in Air Import operations within a freight forwarding environment.
• Strong understanding of UK customs procedures and CDS entries.
• Experience working with airlines, ground handlers, and airport procedures.
• Familiarity with cargo systems (e.g., ASM Sequoia, CargoWise, or similar).
• Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.

• Knowledge of CDS customs entries.
