Business Development Manager – South West
Salary: Up to £65,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Benefits
Location: South West
Hours: 37.5 per week

The Opportunity

I’m currently partnering with a leading organisation in the recycling and resource management sector to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager for their South West region. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, forward-thinking business that is playing a key role in driving sustainability and helping organisations reduce their environmental impact.

The Role

This is a high-impact, client-facing role focused on driving growth across the region. You will take ownership of identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities, while positioning the organisation as a key partner for large-scale, strategic contracts.

Key responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through proactive regional engagement
• Identifying and securing opportunities to bid for strategically important contracts
• Developing and delivering tailored, solutions-based proposals and client presentations
• Leading negotiations and structuring commercial agreements with new clients
• Acting as the central point of contact during onboarding to ensure seamless contract implementation
• Strengthening the company’s regional market presence and refining the overall sales proposition

About You

My client is looking for a driven, commercially astute sales professional with a proven track record of success in winning and developing high-value business.

You will ideally have:

• Demonstrable success in securing and growing large accounts
• Experience in a senior sales or business development role
• Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
• A consultative, solutions-led sales approach
• Experience producing and delivering high-quality proposals, including ITTs and RFPs
• Excellent presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

Experience within the waste, recycling, or resource management sector would be advantageous, but is not essential-full industry training will be provided.
