Position: – Business Development Manager – European Road Freight
Location: Nottingham (Field based)
Salary: up to £55,000 + bonus, commission & benefits package
Holiday: 25 days + Banks
BDM – European Road Freight
We are currently recruiting a Business Development Manager to join a progressive and ambitious freight forwarding team based from our Nottingham branch. Our client is one of the largest and fastest growing freight forwarding businesses who are proud to be owned by its people.
The BDM will be responsible for creating new business opportunities and for managing the developmental growth of those clients through upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
What we are looking for is an enthusiastic, innovative, and motivated individual that is driven and determined to succeed. The ideal candidate with have a proven track record in freight sales with a strong knowledge within the European Road Freight market.
You will be well-connected and networked within the freight forwarding industry and be able to strategically plan for increased revenue and growth.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Seeking, developing, and securing new business opportunities.
- Measuring, monitoring and reviewing performance of their accounts, ensuring budgets and forecasts are met. Optimise opportunities and manage their client database.
- Support the business by delivering high levels of customer service and building strong relationships.
- Providing customers with accurate and cost effective quotations. Select appropriate carriers/ hauliers in order to maximise profits.
- Integrating new business into our service network.
- Work closely with Internal teams (notably Operations, customs, and transport) to ensure the seamless movement of cargo from origin to destination.
- Monitor market trends in order to keep abreast of the competition.
- Arranging regular client check-ups, via zoom or face to face.
- Meet individually set quarterly targets.
- Sell comprehensive suite of services – Road, Air, Ocean and Customs etc.
