Business Development Manager – Freight | Heathrow area | Up to £50,000

Our client, who are a global freight forwarder are looking for a Multi-modal Business Development Manager to join their team covering the Heathrow area. (GU/KT/UB/TW Postcodes)

As Business Development Manager, you will be tasked to sell Air, Ocean and Road freight services to a variety of different industries.

Job type: Permanent – Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

• Sourcing new Sales Leads by own initiative and in coordination with Operations team
• Developing Sales Leads into Sales-Pipeline categories
• Create and manage Sales-Pipeline by efficient use of CRM tools
• Arrange business meetings with prospective customers and understand their logistics needs
• Establish, build and maintain strategic relationships with prospective and existing customers
• Compile and present competitive multimodal pricing solutions to customers
• Act as primary point of contact for ad-hoc enquiries and generate quotations
• Develop and deliver a growth strategy focused on financial gains and customer-centricity
• Take the lead on all marketing promotions via social-media
• Identify key opportunities and attend related trade exhibitions / events
• Create and present clear and timely Sales Report to General Manager
• Support the Accounts Receivables cash-collection process when required
• Build strategic business relationships with 3^rd party service-providers
• Meet / Exceed set agreed Sales Targets
• Maintain a good network of existing and potential customers

Knowledge:

• Possessing a good network of existing customers
• Proficient in MS Office and CRM software (having used a reputable CRM as management tool)
• Basic understanding of P&L
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Proven success in a similar role within the UK, selling International Freight Forwarding covering Air, Ocean, and EU road-freight logistics solutions
