Business Development Manager – Freight Forwarding

Are you a commercially minded Business Development Manager with experience in freight forwarding? Looking for an opportunity to grow new business, build lasting client relationships and make a real impact within a growing logistics business?

We’re looking for a driven BDM to help develop and expand a multimodal freight forwarding operation, with a particular focus on air and sea freight.

The role

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across the freight forwarding market.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.

• Drive sales growth, with a particular focus on air and sea freight services.

• Develop multimodal freight opportunities, including road transport.

• Identify customer requirements and deliver tailored logistics solutions.

• Prepare and present proposals, negotiate rates and close new business.

• Work closely with internal operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale to service delivery.

• Monitor market trends, identify opportunities and contribute to the wider commercial strategy.

About you

• Previous experience in business development within freight forwarding or international logistics is essential.

• A strong understanding of air and sea freight, ideally alongside multimodal services.

• A proven ability to win new business and develop profitable customer relationships.

• Confident negotiating rates and presenting logistics solutions to customers.

• Commercially aware, proactive and motivated to achieve sales targets.

• A relationship builder who enjoys developing opportunities and seeing them through.
