Business Development Manager | Hydrogen and Gas – Up to £65,000

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person who can lead our growth in the Hydrogen and Gas sector.

As a Business Development Manager for Hydrogen, you will play a key role in expanding the presence and portfolio in the fast-growing hydrogen market. You will leverage your expertise in Business Development, Sales and Project Management to identify and pursue new opportunities. You will also build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, partners and stakeholders, and ensure the successful delivery of the company’s hydrogen projects.

Job type: Full-time

Salary: Up to £65,000

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the hydrogen or industrial gas sector, with a specific focus on the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
  • Lead and oversee the development of large, complex projects, ensuring alignment with the delivery strategy.
  • Provide guidance and direction throughout the lifecycle of hydrogen and long-term energy storage projects, from early development to acquisition.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new leads and opportunities for growth.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations and Finance teams to optimize projects from inception.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional service and meet client expectations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key client accounts, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns.
  • Conduct regular account reviews to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide solutions

Skills and Competency:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Hydrogen sector
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Extensive experience in project management, demonstrating successful project delivery.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to create mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Must have an analytical skill, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Conversant in IT skills e.g. MS Word, Excel, Teams and CRM systems.
