Location: West Thurrock, Essex
Salary £26,000
Holiday: 26 days + Bank Holidays
Our client is a specialist freight forwarder operating exclusively in the Beverage Logistics Market, offering international freight services via air sea and road freight. They are a market leader in their field and stand out as an award-winning logistics group that value its people provide outstanding levels of service to its customers.
Due to continued growth plans, we are now hiring for a Commercial Freight Assistant to join our dedicated Commercial department from our HQ in West Thurrock, Essex
The ideal candidate will have a background in either operational freight forwarding or work as a commercial or internal freight sales executive. The role would also suit a freight-pricing specialist.
The successful individual will be responsible for providing freight rates, quotes and pricing solutions to new and existing customers, as well as assisting with procurement functions.
Commercial Freight Assistant Role:
- Support the Commercial Team Leader.
- Administer buying and selling rates within internal systems (QRS).
- Deliver value by ensuring all quotes presented to sales are within KPI
Key Responsibilities:
- Issue quotes accurately and within agreed deadlines
- Manage the commercial inbox
- Input buying and selling rates to QRS
- Carrier invoice queries
- Apply GM to quotes (based on guidelines)
- Build cost sheets
- Export QRS quotes to the quote template and produce pdf for sales
- Assisting the procurement function
- Develop and share best practice
- Ensure day-to-day issues are escalated
