Role: Control Systems Engineer
Location: Durham
Salary: Up to £55,000
Start Date: ASAP
We are recruiting for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join a well-established, fast-paced manufacturing site in Durham. This is a key position within the engineering team, responsible for maintaining and improving electrical and control systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production.
Key Responsibilities for Control System Engineer
Maintain and repair plant machinery and control systems to maximise uptime
Respond quickly and effectively to electrical and control system breakdowns, minimising downtime and improving OEE
Support the Maintenance Manager in delivering electrical maintenance strategies and planned preventative maintenance
Drive continuous improvement activities using lean tools and techniques
Ensure all plant and equipment comply with current electrical legislation and safety standards
Skills & Experience Required
Recognised electrical apprenticeship or minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering
ONC, HNC, or equivalent qualification
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Experience with Siemens PLCs, including S7 and TIA Portal
Strong fault-finding, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of pneumatic systems and electric motors
