Customs Brokerage Coordinator Job Overview
My client is seeking an experienced Customs Brokerage Coordinator to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for handling both Import and Export Customs Entries, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, providing clearance instructions to other brokers, and auditing their work to maintain high standards of accuracy. If you have a solid understanding of the Customs Tariff, strong attention to detail, and experience in customs compliance, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team in a fast-paced environment.

Customs Brokerage Coordinator Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and Submit Customs Entries for both Import and Export shipments, ensuring all entries comply with relevant regulations.
  • Provide Clearance Instructions to other brokers, ensuring proper documentation and procedures are followed for clearance.
  • Audit customs entries submitted by other brokers to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations, correcting discrepancies where necessary.
  • Apply a strong understanding of the Customs Tariff to correctly classify goods and calculate duties and taxes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and tariff classifications, ensuring all entries are processed accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with other internal departments, clients, and external authorities to resolve any issues related to customs clearance.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any discrepancies or issues related to customs documentation and entries.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to the team and other brokers as needed to ensure smooth and compliant operations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Customs Brokerage or a related field, with a strong understanding of Import and Export customs processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Customs Tariff classifications and regulations.
  • Ability to accurately audit and verify the work of other brokers.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to provide clear instructions and resolve issues promptly.
  • Proficiency in customs brokerage software and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining compliance standards.
