Customs Clerk – Road Freight
Location: Erith | Office-Based | Mon-Fri, 09:00-17:30
Salary: Circa £32,000 (DOE)
A well-established freight forwarding company based in Erith is looking for a Customs Clerk to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid understanding of customs processes who’s looking to develop their career in a collaborative environment.
What you’ll be doing:
* Processing customs entries for predominantly road freight imports and exports
* Liaising with HMRC, port authorities, and internal teams to ensure compliance
* Preparing accurate documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin
* Working closely with hauliers and overseas agents to coordinate clearances
* Managing DUCRs, MRNs and associated customs systems
* Assisting in resolving queries and ensuring the smooth flow of goods across borders
What we’re looking for:
* Around 2 years’ experience in a customs role, ideally within road freight
* Knowledge of CDS and familiarity with UK import/export regulations
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment
