Estimator – Main Contractor

My client, a leading provider of full turnkey solutions for specialist commercial and industrial projects including mechanical, electrical, HVAC and construction. They are looking for an experienced Estimator with a background in estimating turnkey projects to work out of their Glasgow offices. background can be any engineering trade, including mechanical, electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning or refrigeration

Requirements:

• Engineering qualifications such as a degree, diploma or equivalent in any mechanical, electrical, or construction engineering field
• Several years of experience as an estimator in the mechanical, electrical, or HVAC industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with complex project documentation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Familiarity with project management and estimating software is a plus

Package:

• £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience
• 33 days of holiday
• Bonus based on company profit
• Car or allowance

Responsibilities:

• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for fit-out, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Collaborate with project managers and sales teams to determine project scope and requirements
• Review project plans and blueprints to identify potential design or construction issues
• Develop detailed project cost estimates, including labor, materials, and equipment costs
• Prepare and submit accurate and competitive bids for potential projects
• Ensure that all estimates are compliant with industry standards and regulations
• Track and monitor project costs throughout the project lifecycle
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and other project-related events as required
