Mechanical Estimator – Air conditioning and Heat pumps
I’m looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join a well-established HVAC contract business that provides hotels, restaurants and offices with a full turnkey solution, including design, installation and maintenance of air conditioning, refrigeration and heat pumps. You will be responsible for assessing the needs of clients and providing them with accurate estimates for mechanical installation, repair, and maintenance projects.
This is a great opportunity for a mechanical estimator or someone who has carried out estimating as part of their role i.e a senior air conditioning engineer, air conditioning supervisor, project manager, contract manager, project engineer or contract engineer
The Role
- Interpret customer drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to prepare cost estimates
- Attend site meetings as required
- Undertake material take offs
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials and equipment
- Identify risks and challenges, mitigate
- Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical expertise
- Coordinate with suppliers and sub-contractors
- Evaluate and recommend value and cost-saving measures to clients
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Package:
- Salary £35,000 to £45,000
- 28 days holiday
- 5% contributory pension
Requirements:
- Technical background in mechanical building services; air conditioning, HVAC
- Experience of Ensign, Spons and other estimating software and tools
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, particularly air conditioning and pipe work associated with heat pumps
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Own transport
