EU Road Freight Coordinator – Groupage & Full Loads

Position: European Road Freight Forwarder
Location: Pontefract, West Yorkshire
Hours: Mon – Fri -8:30am-17:30pm
Salary: £25,000 – £28,000pa + 28 Day Holiday Allowance

The Company
Our client were founded in the 1970’s and have over 45 years experience offering UK & European Road Freight Services for general freight as well as specialised Events Logistics.

They are a family owned, independent organisation with a fleet of 50 vehicles, and run their own services in out of European countries like, Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

They also subcontract a portion of their work out to overseas European partners when required.

Due to elevated growth, we no seek to welcome a new freight forwarding professional to join a growing team made up of 11 Road Freight Forwarding specialist from the central HQ in West Yorkshire.

We are seeking individuals with a strong background in import or export for European Road Freight movements who are looking a new challenge and want to work for a forward thinking, young dynamic freight forwarding company.

In return we are offering a base salary ranging between £25,000 – £28,000pa dependant on experience, a fantastic platform for internal progression, company pension contribution, company mobile phone and 28 days holiday entitlement.


Road Freight Forwarder Position Overview:
Arrange import and export movements via European Road Freight
Respond to customer enquiries and source the most appropriate service options.
Provide verbal quotations and guidance on service options and negotiate with suppliers and customers to secure the booking.
Liaise with customers to develop report and a good understanding of each customers requirements.
Liaise with oversea partners, hauliers and agents to ensure all transportation details are correct and all parties are kept informed throughout transit.
Communicate with UK and overseas agents to effectively manage consignments.

Essential Requirements:
Must have experience of planning EU Road Freight movements, for exports or imports
You will be responsible for coordinating all road freight consignments.
Operators are required to obtain service options from a wide range of suppliers / Agents, negotiating rates before providing service options to the customer. All customer quotations must be provided verbally and negotiated effectively to secure bookings.
