European Operations Manager/Director

Position: European Road Freight Operations Supervisor/Manager/Director

They employ over 400 people across 8 UK branches and are an award-winning Logistics and freight provider that is led by its people, who help to drive the business.

Due to recent developments, we are now hiring an experienced European Road Freight specialist to join our dedicated team based at our branch in Nottingham.

We are looking to speak with experienced road freight professionals at all levels of management from Supervisor through to Operations Manager or Operations Director.

The position will involve taking overall responsibility of the European Road Freight department for the UK operation.

Key responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the leadership, management and performance of the road freight operations department across the UK as well as P&L responsibility, development of European markets and trade lanes, running dedicated road freight service for European & Eastern European countries, (Import & Export) as well as part loads, and groupage services.
You will be confident in the development of new commercial markets.

You will be responsible for overseeing all road freight consignments and developing new markets.
Obtain service options from a wide range of suppliers / Agents, negotiating rates before providing service options to the customer. All customer quotations must be provided verbally and negotiated effectively to secure bookings. All orders must be added to the Operations system and monitored daily, ensuring consignment updates are added to the EBOS tracking screen.
Respond to customer enquiries and source the most appropriate service options.
Provide verbal quotations and guidance on service options and negotiate with suppliers and customers to secure the booking.

Package:

• Salary: £40,000 – £65,000
