European Road Freight Coordinator Job Description
My client is seeking a proactive and highly organised European Road Freight Coordinator to join their expanding logistics team in Manchester. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the full cycle of European road freight shipments, ensuring that all movements are planned, executed, and delivered with precision. You will act as a central point of communication between customers, carriers, and internal teams, ensuring transparency, reliability, and an exceptional level of service throughout the transport process.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where problem-solving, attention to detail, and strong operational knowledge are key. You will be entrusted with managing customs processes, monitoring shipment progress, resolving issues proactively, and contributing to continuous service improvements within a growing logistics operation.
European Road Freight Coordinator Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage European road freight shipments from collection through to final delivery, ensuring that timelines and service expectations are consistently met.
- Liaise daily with customers, carriers, and international partners, providing clear updates, managing expectations, and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Prepare, check, and process all required customs documentation, ensuring compliance with international transport regulations and post-Brexit procedures.
- Track and monitor shipments, taking swift action to resolve delays or service issues while keeping stakeholders fully informed.
- Handle customer queries and problem-solve effectively, offering solutions that prioritise efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
European Road Freight Coordinator Requirements:
- Previous experience in European road freight forwarding is essential.
- Strong understanding of transport operations, customs processes, and international logistics procedures.
- Competent in using freight management or transport management systems.
- Competent in using boxtop software system
- French language skills are a strong advantage.
