European Road Freight Manager
Position: EU Road Freight Manager
Location: Bradford
Hours: Mon – Fri 8:30 – 17:00
Holiday: 25 days + Bank Hols
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + Package (Negotiable)
The Company:
Our client were first established in the 1980s and have a wealth of experience in the UK and have built up an impressive network of offices and agents Worldwide so they are able to provide the freight forwarding solutions their customers require using long-standing partners and offices, offering services across ocean air and road.
We are now seeking to appoint an experienced Freight Forwarding Manager specialising within the European Road Freight market to join our growing team based in Bradford
European Road Freight Manager Role:
You will be a dynamic General Manager and team leader with a strong background in European Road Freight at senior level, responsible for around 20 operational and commercial personnel and will report to the Managing Directors.
Key Responsibilities:
To oversee day to day European Freight operation
Full accountability for P&L, Budgets & Forecasting
Demonstrate leadership qualities to inspire and develop our teams
People management and personal development of the team
Training new & existing team members across all business areas.
Management of key customer accounts
Development of existing and new business
Strategic development of new markets and trade lanes.
Process optimisation; streamlining to improve business efficiency, aligning across multiple sites
Negotiate customer rates and service levels, supplier costs, key stakeholders
Adhering to customer KPIs; quality control of suppliers, demanding improvements where necessary
