Freight Sales Executive

Freight Sales Executive – Glasgow

The Freight Sales Executive is responsible for driving sales growth, managing customer relationships, and delivering service excellence. This role encompasses identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing client accounts, and ensuring all activities align with compliance and company objectives.

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday – 09:00 – 17:30 (Office based role unless visiting clients)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and convert a variety of new sales opportunities across all verticals.
  • Maintain and develop existing customer relationships through regular, planned meetings.
  • Respond to sales leads from all sources promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure sales activities comply with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Develop and prioritize a sales plan to achieve business objectives and KPIs.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline using the CRM system.
  • Deliver high levels of client satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Present effective and compelling sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and updates within the CRM system.
  • Follow the established sales process and methodologies.
  • Monitor and report on market trends and competitor activity.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to resolve customer service issues.
  • Work cross-functionally to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Attend internal meetings and external business seminars as required.
  • Organize and participate in client hospitality events when necessary.
  • Meet and exceed expectations for call rate and pipeline KPIs.
  • Assess and verify the creditworthiness of customers and assist in credit control.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in generating new business and managing client relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to implement effective short- and long-term sales strategies.
  • Comfortable engaging and negotiating at senior/executive levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Highly organized and driven to achieve targets.
