Our client is an award-winning global freight forwarding provider and we are currently assisting them with recruiting for a Freight Sales Executive to work in the Internal Sales department.
The ideal candidate will have a background in the UK Freight Forwarding with knowledge of internal sales (Any modes considered, but ideally air or sea). The role is to prospect new clients by networking, cold calling and advertising. You will be required to grow and retain existing accounts by offering new services, rates and quotations. A strong ability for strategic planning is key to this role to enable you to develop pipelines of new business and revenue.
There is a real opportunity for career growth within this role, with a gateway to becoming a field-based BDM.
Key Responsibilities of a Freight Sales Executive:
- Database management
- Qualify lead opportunity, freight spend, volumes, transport modes, and market sectors.
- Relationship Management with current prospects and developing new relationships with prospective clients.
- Meet daily KPI’s as set out by the department.
- Demonstrate growth monthly and achieve the targets.
- Generate new prospect leads
- Prepare and submit monthly reports in a timely fashion.
- Conduct company presentations.
- Identify and establish relationships with key clients.
- Together with the wider team, work towards continued growth and development of the brand & business
