We are currently recruiting for a Head of Depot Operations on behalf of a globally established logistics organisation with a strong UK presence and continued growth plans.

This is a senior leadership opportunity to take full ownership of a busy depot operation, overseeing warehouse, transport, and site performance, while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take full responsibility for depot operations, ensuring performance, compliance, and service excellence across all functions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading day-to-day depot operations across warehouse and transport functions
• Driving operational efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement
• Managing and developing operational teams, including supervisors and managers
• Overseeing fleet, resource planning, and site performance
• Ensuring compliance with transport legislation and operator licence requirements
• Managing KPIs, budgets, and performance reporting
• Leading recruitment, training, and staff development initiatives
• Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers
• Supporting business growth, new contracts, and operational expansion

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior depot, transport, or warehouse operations role
• Strong leadership background managing large operational teams
• Experience across both transport and warehouse operations
• Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and costs
• Strong understanding of logistics, compliance, and operational best practice
• Experience driving continuous improvement within an operational environment
• Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
• Knowledge of DVSA compliance and transport legislation
• CPC qualification and/or FORS knowledge advantageous

• Salary up to £57,000
