HVAC Estimator – Air conditioning and Heat pumps

I’m looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join a well-established HVAC contract business that provides hotels, restaurants and offices with a full turnkey solution, including design, installation and maintenance of air conditioning, refrigeration and heat pumps. You will be responsible for assessing the needs of clients and providing them with accurate estimates for mechanical installation, repair, and maintenance projects.

This is a great opportunity for a mechanical estimator or someone who has carried out estimating as part of their role i.e a senior air conditioning engineer, air conditioning supervisor, project manager, contract manager, project engineer or contract engineer

Responsibilities:

• Office-based – no site visits required
• Analyse blueprints, schematics, and specifications to prepare cost estimates
• Prepare detailed proposals and bids for clients
• Collaborate with sales teams to ensure project specifications are accurate
• Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical expertise
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Evaluate and recommend cost-saving measures to clients

Package:

• Salary £50,000 to £60,000 depending on experience
• 35 days holiday
• 5% contributory pension
• Monday to Friday
• 9am to 5pm

Requirements:

• Technical background preferred either as an air conditioning engineer, heat pump engineer or mechanical engineer
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical estimation or related field
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, particularly air conditioning and pipe work associated with heat pumps
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimation software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
