HVAC Pre-Sales Engineer

Overview

An established HVAC manufacturer is seeking a Pre-Sales engineer to support specification, contractor enquiries and system design. This is an office-based role.

The Role

Acting as the technical bridge between sales, contractors and consultants, you will provide pre-sales support on air conditioning and heat pump projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Producing technical selections and system designs for split, multi-split and heat pump applications

• Reviewing project drawings, heat loss calculations and specifications

• Advising installers and M&E contractors on product suitability and system configuration

• Supporting the sales team with technical presentations and bid documentation

• Assisting with compliance queries relating to low-temperature heating and renewable systems

• Liaising with internal technical and product teams to resolve application challenges

This is a design and applications-led role suited to someone who understands installation realities and can confidently discuss system layouts, pipe sizing, controls strategy and commissioning considerations.

Requirements

• Background as an Air Conditioning or Heat Pump Engineer, or Mechanical Building Services Engineer

• Strong understanding of split systems, VRF/VRV, and domestic/light commercial heat pump systems

• Ability to interpret drawings and carry out basic heat loss or cooling load calculations

• Technically confident when speaking with contractors and installers

• IT literate and comfortable producing technical documentation

Previous manufacturer or distributor experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Package

• Salary circa £45,000

• Office-based role (Surrey)
