Role: Hydraulic Field Service Engineer
Location: Field Based
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 Depending on experience
Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Hydraulic Field Service Engineer to join their growing team. This is a hands-on role involving on-site diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and installation of hydraulic systems and components across a range of industrial and mobile equipment.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on hydraulic systems, including pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and pipework
- Install, commission, and test hydraulic equipment
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Provide technical advice and support to customers on-site
- Complete detailed service reports and documentation
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations
- Participate in on-call rota
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience working with hydraulic systems (mobile or industrial)
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic diagrams
- Mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent preferred)
- Full clean driving licence
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
