Role: Hydraulic Field Service Engineer
Location: Field Based – South East
Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience + overtime
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our growing service team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of plant equipment at customer sites. This is a hands-on position that requires strong diagnostic skills and experience working with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, service, and repair plant machinery at customer sites and occasionally within the workshop.
- Fault-find across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative servicing.
- Respond to breakdowns and provide effective on-site solutions.
- Complete service reports, maintenance records, and documentation accurately.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer, Plant Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience working with construction or plant equipment (e.g., excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, or similar machinery).
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs independently.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering, Plant Maintenance, or a related discipline.
