Hydrualic Field Service Engineer

Role: Hydraulic Field Service Engineer

Location: Field Based – South East

Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience + overtime

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our growing service team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of plant equipment at customer sites. This is a hands-on position that requires strong diagnostic skills and experience working with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, service, and repair plant machinery at customer sites and occasionally within the workshop.
• Fault-find across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative servicing.
• Respond to breakdowns and provide effective on-site solutions.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records, and documentation accurately.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer, Plant Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience working with construction or plant equipment (e.g., excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, or similar machinery).
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs independently.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering, Plant Maintenance, or a related discipline.
