A well-established international freight forwarding and supply chain services company is seeking an experienced Import Specialist to join its growing U.S. operations team in Houston.
This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of air and ocean import shipments, ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, and a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Handle full-cycle air and ocean import shipments from booking through final delivery
Prepare, review, and process import documentation (commercial invoices, classifications, ISF, etc.)
Coordinate with overseas offices, vendors, truckers, and customers to ensure smooth movement of freight
Monitor shipment status, manage exceptions, and communicate proactively with clients
Support quoting activities and assist sales and operations leadership as needed
Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and internal operating procedures
Required Experience
3+ years of import operations experience
Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, ISF, and Incoterms
Experience managing shipments in CargoWise
Proficient in Microsoft Office and freight management systems
