Job Title: Import Manager – EU Road Freight
Location: Lichfield, UK
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Overview:
A well-established logistics and supply chain company is seeking an experienced Import Manager to oversee and manage EU Road freight operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and highly organised professional who thrives in a dynamic logistics environment and understands the complexities of cross-border freight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all EU import operations via road freight
- Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods from the EU into the UK
- Oversee customs clearance procedures and ensure full compliance with post-Brexit regulations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hauliers, customs agents, and internal stakeholders
- Monitor and optimise freight costs and performance metrics
- Handle documentation, booking systems, and import declarations accurately
- Lead and support a small team to achieve operational excellence
Requirements:
- Proven experience in EU import operations, specifically road freight with a UK based freight forwarder
- Strong understanding of UK/EU customs processes and documentation
- Excellent planning, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of post-Brexit freight regulations and challenges
