Location: Gatwick, Crawley
Full-time | Monday-Friday
Salary: Up to £30k DOE
Are you looking to build or grow your career in freight forwarding? We’re working with a well-established and growing logistics business based in Gatwick that is seeking an Import Operations Coordinator to join their dynamic team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with import experience, or an ambitious trainee eager to learn – who wants exposure to international freight operations, with the chance to expand into exports and specialist movements.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing import shipments from start to finish, ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Handling incoming calls and customer enquiries
- Preparing accurate quotations for clients
- Managing import shipments across air, road, and ocean freight
- Liaising with carriers, contractors, and internal teams
- Costing jobs and raising invoices
- Maintaining accurate records and managing your own workload
- Supporting warehouse operations when required
Key requirements:
- Experience in import operations (air, road, ocean, or customs) is desirable, but not essential
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good IT skills
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
