Job Title: Import Operations Manager – Sea, Air, Road
Location: Wythenshawe, Manchester
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000
Benefits: Company car/allowance, Bonus, Incremental Holiday
Our client are a leading, global freight forwarding organisation that manages the supply chain of the world’s leading brands through a network of strategically placed offices around the world.
Due to expansion and growth, we are now seeking an experienced Import Manager to join our new facility based in Wythenshawe in Manchester. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated work history within ocean import operations at management level. You Will be capable of leading a team, managing the daily freight operations and control over P&L, forecasting and reporting.
Summary of the Job:
- Liaison between all dept’s that effect service
- Implementation and set up of new accounts to branch
- Handling any personnel requirements & issues
- Ensuring complete accuracy on bought & sales ledger invoicing
- Forecasting, EP & cost/profit analysis
Overall Purpose of Role:
- Ensuring complete Customer Service
- Managing workflow across the office
- Identifying/implementing efficiency gains to processes
- Working with the Customer Service teams to implement any change necessary
- Measuring complete service for all customers including KPI reporting
- Liaison between all dept’s & div’s that effect service
- Implementation and set up of new accounts to branch
- Handling any personnel requirements & issues
- Ensuring complete accuracy on bought & sales ledger invoicing
- Forecasting, EP & cost/profit analysis
Experience Required:
- Operational experience in multi-modal end to end processes, especially Ocean Freight Imports.
- Held management position.
- Deep knowledge of Cargowise.
- Knowledge of Operational ERP systems.
- Proven track record of driving continuous improvement.
- Proven track record of change / project management skills
- Proven experience of working in a similar environment.
- Knowledge of Customs Software Packages, ideally ASM Sequoia.
