Position: Import Operator – Road & Sea Freight
Location: Leeds
Salary: Negotiable, up to £36,000
Hours: Mon – Fri 9:am – 17:30pm
The Company:
Our client is an award-winning, multi-site freight forwarder with 9 offices, strategically based around the UK.
They are one of the UK’s largest independently owned freight forwarding businesses and are currently experiencing significant growth across the group. To coincide with expansion plans, we are now actively hiring an experienced freight forwarder/operator to join a small dedicated imports team based in Leeds.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in import operations with end-to-end experience of either deep sea imports or European road freight imports.
We are also hoping to attract individuals who may have experience in exports to help cover sickness/holidays when required. Whilst experience is important, personality is also important to help fit in with our friendly team. We are looking to speak with individuals who are passionate about their work, share our values, are dynamic and can adjust well in a fast-paced office environment.
In return, we can offer a competitive base salary of up to £36,000 along with 10% annual bonus and 25 days holiday + BH.
Key Responsibilities – Import Operator – Road & Sea Freight
- Complete the full life cycle of the import process for deep sea and road freight
- Arrange shipments from Origin through to final delivery
- Create bookings
- Liaise with merchant haulage, provide freight rates and quotations for LCL & FCL
- Complete Customs clearances via CDS
- Provide outstanding levels of customer service
