Our client is a well-established and growing Building Services Consultancy delivering innovative engineering solutions across a diverse range of commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and industrial projects.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team in Newcastle.

As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to completion. Working closely with senior engineers, clients, architects, and fellow engineering disciplines, you will help deliver high-quality, sustainable, and technically robust solutions across a varied project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce electrical designs for building services projects across multiple sectors.
• Prepare electrical calculations, specifications, reports, and detailed design drawings.
• Coordinate designs with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams.
• Support project delivery, ensuring programmes, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.
• Attend client and design team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
• Assist in mentoring Graduate and Junior Engineers where appropriate.
• Contribute to the development of low-carbon and energy-efficient design solutions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practice.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Typically 2-5 years’ experience within a Building Services Consultancy environment.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Experience using Trimble and Amtech software.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services design principles and project delivery.
• Interest in developing low-carbon and sustainable engineering solutions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage workload across multiple projects within a multidisciplinary environment.
