Junior Design Engineer – Salary Circa £29,000 – Winchester area – Must be eligible for SC Clearance

Are you a Junior Design Engineer with a HND / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or similar with a year’s work experience in industry looking to join a dynamic organization who offer excellent career development?

My client is seeking a talented Junior Design Engineer to join their fast-growing team of established engineers. In this role you will assist the Design team to produce engineering designs and associated engineering documentation, working on large scale projects within highly regulated sectors.

All successful applicants must have a valid UK driving license and must be eligible to obtain SC level clearance.

The Package:

Salary – circa £29,000

37 hours a week Monday-Thursday 08:30-17:00 and Friday 08:30-16:30

25 days holiday + bank holidays

Death in service 4x annual salary

Hybrid working available – 2 days from home and 3 days in the office

The Role:

• To produce engineering designs and associated engineering documents such as drawings, calculations and reports.
• To issue engineering documents as required.
• To progress small and medium sized engineering projects, as allocated or working as part of a team on larger projects.
• Project work, in addition to design, will include all aspects of the design process such as draughting and testing of products, as well as other organizational tasks appropriate.
• Substantiation / validation of design output.

Required Skills:

• Must hold a driving licence due to office location.
• Must be eligible to obtain security clearance.
• Will have experience using software such as SolidWorks and CAD / Autocad
• Will ideally have an understanding of engineering calculations. (Hans calcs, Ansys, FEA experience)
• Experience of machine design, e.g. food processing, packaging machinery, medical equipment, ROV, remote handling equipment or similar would be advantageous.
