Key Account Manager – Birmingham – Up to £65k
The Company:
Founded over 40 years ago, my client has developed from a small office of less than five to having multiple large offices based in different regions with 200 proud members of staff and counting. Specialising in Sea and Air freight, with an annual turnover of over £200m, maintaining strong client relationships with many blue-chip companies across the world, within varying industries, providing an outstanding class of customer service. My client really cares about their staff, they bolstered the wages of their people because of the cost of living crisis, whilst also providing annual pay reviews for all staff, and next year will offer a one-off payment to all. They regularly have engagement surveys too as they want to ensure their people are happy at work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Focusing on retaining, growing and developing existing clients
- Account management of key customers
- Ensuring CRM system is being used effectively to track, monitor, report and strategically plan business opportunities.
- Invoicing, quoting, negotiating rates
- Ensuring quality client deliverables are achieved and service levels met
- Play a key role in new business pitches and hold responsibility for the effective on-boarding of new clients.
- Act as the key interface between the allocated customer and all relevant departments.
- Resolve any issues and problems faced by your customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust.
- Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis, ensuring we are consistently meeting or exceeding them.
- Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and reporting.
- Understand the value drivers of the business and identifying profitable commercial opportunities to grow revenue and market share.
- Represent the company externally e.g. at networking events, conferences and exhibitions to enhance and strengthen the company’s profile and optimise all business development opportunities
Requirements
- Experience with in similar Account Manager roles
- 3 – 5 years sale experience
- Freight Forwarding background – Road Freight, Air Freight, Ocean Freight (Deep Sea or Short Sea)
Package
- £65k Depending on Experience
- 21 days increasing plus bank holidays.
- Two conditional yearly bonuses (recently up to 9%!)
