My client specialise in designing, implementing, and maintaining effective Local Exhaust Ventilation systems to protect workers from hazardous airborne contaminants. Their mission is to create healthier and safer workplaces, ensuring the well-being of employees across various industries.

Job Description:

As a LEV Engineer,and covering the Midlands, you will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining Local Exhaust Ventilation systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and optimize worker safety.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of workplaces to identify potential hazards and determine appropriate LEV system requirements.
  • Designing efficient and effective LEV systems tailored to specific workplace conditions and contaminant sources.
  • Collaborating with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop detailed engineering plans and specifications.
  • Overseeing the installation, commissioning, and testing of LEV systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Conducting regular inspections and maintenance activities on existing LEV systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to clients and colleagues on LEV-related matters.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to LEV systems.

Package:

  • £35,000 – £40,000 salary
  • 31 days holiday per year
  • 40 hour contract

Requirements:

  • Ventilation engineering qualifications plus a P601 or equivalent – if you are a heating & ventilation engineer, P601 training can be provided
  • Proven experience in installing, and maintaining LEV systems.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines, such as COSHH, ACGIH, and HSG258.
  • Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software for system design and layout.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
