LGV 1 Driver (C+E)

Position: LGV 1 Driver (C+E)

Location: Manchester

Hours: Monday to Friday 07:00 – 18:00 (Some flexibility may be required)

Salary: £28,000 (OTE 45K with overtime and night our allowance)

Reporting to: Depot Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced LGV 1 driver (C+E) to join our client’s expanding team.

The ideal HGV candidate will require the following:

• Valid C+E LGV licence, with no more than 6 penalty points
• No DD, CD, TT, IN endorsement codes
• Minimum 2 years’ experience
• Driver CPC card with a minimum of 12 months remaining
• Valid Digi card
• Ability to do nights out as part of a rota (approx 2 per week)
• ADR certificate in packages is desirable
• Good WTD & Tacho knowledge
• Palletised delivery experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise the loading of the vehicle so that products are safely loaded and secured to minimise chances of damage
• Ensure the load is correct against the customer’s orders
• Deliver palletised goods on curtainsider vehicle
• Ensure that the delivery is safe to make and respect the customer’s property; if in doubt, consult with the customer and/or Transport Manager
• Have a good attention to detail with paperwork and POD’s
• Handle customer issues on delivery effectively and contact the Transport Manager for assistance if required
• Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner
• Drive within the tachograph law and driver hours limits
• Provide excellent customer service
• Look after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subject to unnecessary damage
• Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab
• Ensure accidents are kept to a minimum
• Ensure accidents are reported at the time of incidence and evidence is collected
